What are the ways to waterproof the foundation?
It is a simple 2-step process to waterproof your foundation:
1. Integral Waterproofing:
Use integral waterproofing chemicals such as Dr. Fixit LW+ or Sika Admixtures while creating a mortar for the foundation.
Generally, this chemical is dosed in the concrete to increase the concrete's waterproofing and hence reduce corrosion of reinforced steel. Below is a short video of Dr. Fixit LW+.
2. Coating of bituminous compound:
To isolate any transfer of moisture from the foundation to the house wall, use a coating of bitumen base compound after the foundation is constructed.
